Power Studies
A List of projects under taken by MULTI related to Power Studies is presented in Table : Experience in Energy and Electrification; which includes Energy Consumption Survey, Socio-economic Justification for Electrification, 33 kV Transmission Line Survey, Market and Distribution Line Survey along with preliminary investigation of 6 selected hydropower project in Upper Karnali. A energy consumption pattern study was also conducted in Bagmati Command Area Development Project by this firm.

Topographic Survey and Mapping
MULTI has extensive experience over the last fifteen years in conducting topographical survey and mapping, as it forms the basis for Project Planning and Design. Of most notable amongst are Karnali Bheri Highway Project (214 Km along Karnali and Bheri rivers), Road Flood Rehabilitation Project (topo map preparation for river training works in East Rapti, Manahara and Lothar rivers), Bagmati Irrigation Project (topo-map for 3035 ha irrigation development), Sunsari Morang Irrigation Project (Stage I : Benchmark survey along 72 Km canal length and Stage - II : traverse, L-Section and X-Section of canal networks in 16,700 ha). Altogether MULTI has undertaken topographical Survey for almost 2,00,000 ha of irrigation development projects and almost 600 Km. of road projects along with several bridges.

Geology and Geotechnical
Geological and geotechnical explorations, investigations, analysis and mapping were conducted in most of the Road Projects (Detailed Design Projects: 13 nos.; totaling 363 Km. and feasibility study projects: 4 nos.; totaling 253 Km.), Bridges (5 nos.) and Irrigation Projects such as Rani, Jamara and Kulariya Kulo IP, Arjun Khola Irrigation Project, Gunjantar Irrigation Project Phalangu Khola Irrigation Project and Daha Khola Irrigation Project. In Future Water Supply for Kathmandu Valley Project (widely known as Melamchi Project) thorough geological studies were undertaken to assess alternative water transmission concepts such as open channels, tunnels, pressure pipe lines alongwith geotechnical conditions at intake sites, transmission routes, physical structures (e.g. reservoirs pumping plants etc.) were investigated
MULTI Lab (P) Ltd, a sister concern of MULTI, is capable of undertaking geotechnical investigations and tests. The investigation facilities available with MULTI Lab is listed in Table 2.

Hydrology
MULTI's experience with hydrology includes compilation and analysis of hydrological and meteorological data to estimate flood flows of various return periods for Sunsari Morang Irrigation Project (S-III), Road Flood Rehabilitation Project (in which estimation of flood flows in Manohara and East Rapti river as a consequence of July 1993 flood and precipitation records were also undertaken), East Rapti Irrigation Project (Head work Cost Reduction Studies), Khutiya Irrigation Project (establishment of gauging station in the river and monitoring gauge reading) RJK Kulo IP (hydrology of Karnali river) along with several flood protection and river training works undertaken by MULTI.

Hydraulic Structure
MULTI has extensive experience in the design of all types of hydraulic structures. Of most notable relevance to hydropower project is experience gained by this firm in the design of Intake & Diversion Structures, Desilting Basins, Covered conveyance canal and tanks while undertaking following projects:
- Rani, Jamara, & Kulariya Irrigation Project (Karnali River)
- Future Water Supply for Kathmandu Valley (Melamchi river)
- Khutiya Irrigation Project (Khutiya river)
- Headwork Cost-reduction Study of East Rapti Irrigation Project (East Rapti River)
- Arjun Khola Irrigation Project (Arjun Khola)
- Daha Khola Irrigation Project (Daha Khola)
- Phalangu Khola Irrigation Project (Phalangu Khola)
- Gunjantar Irrigation Project (East Rapti River)

Access Roads, Tunnels and Bridges:
The list of projects in Transportation Sector is provided in the Table : Experience in the Transportation Sector.

Construction Planning and Administration:
In recent years MULTI has successfully completed construction administration works notable among them are Road Flood Rehabilitation Project (ICB contract) and construction of Lalitpur Municipality Building Complex (LCB contract). Some of the major on-going construction projects are ADB financed Tourism Service Center at Pokhara and GTZ financed Water Supply and Sanitation Improvement works at Swayambhu. Pre-construction management activities of IDA financed Building Construction Works in Kirtipur Campus (TU) under HEP and ADB financed Gorkha conservation Area Improvement Project has been completed and construction activities will start in the near future.

Cost Estimating, Financial and Economic Analysis:
MULTI has developed software packages for quantity and cost estimation. Financial and Economic Analysis are carried out following criteria set by World Bank/Asian Development Bank. Accordingly, "time-slice methodology" would be applied for the proposed hydropower project.

Socio-economics and Community Participation:
MULTI has gained substantial experience in conducting agricultural and Socio-economic base line surveys, noted among them are.
- East Rapti Irrigation Project (506 sample house holds)
- Bagmati Command Area Development Project (1400 households)
- Sunsari Morang Irrigation Project Stage - III
- Rani, Jamara, Kulariya Kulo I.P. (435 household)
- Impact Evaluation of Seti Integrated Rural Development Project, ADB (1600 household)
- Socio-economic Baseline Studies of Parbat and Kaski Districts for Integrated Watershed Management Project,
JICA (6,000 household)

MULTI has also been entrusted with community development projects in other sectors such as water supply and tourism. The primary task in this projects had been to institute decentralized planning and implementation through effective people's participation (particularly by women and NGOs).
- Sankhu Development Project; GTZ
- Water Supply and Sanitation Project at Swayambhu Area, UDLE/GTZ
- Gorkha Conservation and Infrastructure Development Project, ADB/TIDP/DOA
- Birgunj Water Supply System: Operation, Maintenance and Tariff Study, Municipality/TDFB
